Well, I said that I would post something about what we have been doing during Bryan's break, so here it is! Bryan found this trail that lead to a waterfall called Bolton Falls, or something like that. (I can't remember the exact name!) We went and hiked around and let the girls play in the water. Chloe had fun throwing rocks in the river. Niah just liked climbing the rocks. It was a beautiful place.
Niah is our bug girl. She loves to find bugs and catch them. She had a handful of about six snails- gross! (the snails are sitting on the rock)
We finally had another great day for the beach. It has been so rainy I wasn't sure we would make it there, but thankfully, we did! Niah had fun swimming with Bryan.
Last night, we went and saw Kung Fu Panda and Indiana Jones at the drive-in movie theater. The girls loved sitting in the back of our car. We tried to make it through Indy but at 12:45 am we called it a night. Bryan and I must be getting old because staying up late is impossible for us these days! It was a lot of fun.We have had a great week and can't wait to continue the fun in DisneyWorld. Niah had a hard time going to sleep because she is so excited. Bryan said to me tonight, "Maybe next time we shouldn't tell her we're going to DisneyWorld until the day of!" I almost broke out the Benadryl but she finally settled down and went to sleep! I am looking forward to the next post- I will take lots of pictures!

Bittersweet
On Saturday, it is my Grandma Saundra's birthday. She would have been turning 65. I just wanted to wish her a happy birthday, even though she's not here. I wish I had some better pictures of her- these are from last summer when she came to visit us in Vermont. We had such a great time.
Happy Birthday Grandma! I miss you so much. Love you always...

Strawberry Festival
Yesterday, Bryan finished up his OB rotation so I decided it was time for celebration! I think both Bryan and I are glad that the worst rotations are over with. Bryan has a two week break, so we have some fun things planned for the first few days before our trip. Today we went to the Sam Mazza Strawberry Festival. It was a lot of fun and after a rainy week, the weather was perfect. There was a petting zoo and pony rides. We picked 10 lbs. of strawberries! The girls had a great time picking, actually eating, the strawberries. Niah kept telling us, "This is the last one!" She said that about ten times. I think Chloe put more strawberries in her belly than in the bucket! The evidence was left on her face!
Do you think Niah enjoyed the berries?! Look at that face!
Bryan with the girls. (Sorry B, the only picture I got was one with your eyes closed. Oops!)
We almost didn't let the girls ride the ponies because the line was so long. I'm so glad we let them ride. Chloe's face was worth the tickets and long line. She had a permanent grin. She was in heaven! When the ride was over she was very upset.
Niah's pony was named Coca-Cola. Chloe's was named Spanky. Niah thought her horse's name was the best.
Well, what does a person do with 10 lbs. of strawberries? You make jam!! We now have jam to last us a very long time. The strawberries taste soooo yummy.
We had a great day and are looking forward to having Bryan home with us for a few days. There will be many more things to post about in the next few days. Stay tuned!

2. Running out of money
3. Getting cancer or some serious disease
Three goals
1. To be more patient and kind with my girls
2. To take a cruise around the world someday
3. To lose 15 lbs. by Fall
Three current obsessions/collections
1. Getting ready for Disneyworld
2. Planning a trip to NYC over Thanksgiving
3. Strollers (I currently have four of them!)
Three random surprising facts about me
1. I hate running but I have been doing a lot of it lately.
2. I really do not like politics. When it comes up I completely tune out.

I now tag Erica, Miquelle, Cami, Mel, Mom and anyone else who wants to do it!

Beach
One of our favorite things to do in the summer in Vermont is to go to the beach. Lake Champlain has some great places to play on the shore. It has been really hot here the past few days, only one degree short of an official heat wave, so we have gone a few times the past week. The girls love to play in the water and the sand. They are content the entire time we are there so it's a fun time for them and a nice break for me. I made them matching swimsuit covers with Disney Princesses on them and Niah hasn't taken hers off. Chloe of course, had to have sunglasses just like her big sister! I think they look so cute! Chloe loves to scoop the sand in the buckets and then dump it out in the water.
Niah gets pretty brave in the water. She likes to see how far she can go before I make her come back to the shore. The water is still pretty cold too but she doesn't seem to mind.
Here's Chloe after a day at the beach yesterday. The sun really wipes her out! We are planning on making many more beach trips this summer. It's such a great family activity!!

Only Three More Weeks
As you can probably tell by the new countdown and the sound of our blog, we are getting soooo excited for our trip to DisneyWorld. Niah and I made a countdown chain the other day and Niah takes a loop off every morning when she wakes up. I'm not sure who is more excited, me or Niah. I think the reason I am so excited is because of Niah. I can't wait to see her face when we walk into the park, or when she sees one of the princesses, or when she rides that first ride in Fantasyland! Chloe is also going to have a blast. I'm sure she knows all the words to the Disney songs and the names of all the princesses, she just can't tell us yet! Niah has prepared her well! It will be so much fun to be with my whole family. I have put together some competitions for the older kids and adults while we're there (trivia games and a hidden Mickey competition) so that should be interesting. Some of us are very competitive! I feel like a kid again- the butterflies, the anticipation, etc. I can't wait to get to the Happiest Place on Earth!

50 Things...
I was reading a blog the other day and it had this tag on it: List 50 things about yourself. I thought it looked kind of fun! 50 things is a lot though, I'm not sure I can think of that many things. If you are reading this you should do it too!!
1. I LOVE being a mom.
2. I clean when I am mad.
3. I have an obsession with blogging. Every picture I take seems to be perfect for the blog! I am always thinking about what I should blog about next.
4. I was standing on top of the World Trade Towers exactly two months before September 11th. I think that's kind of eerie.
5. I love to eat pears with cottage cheese or Nacho Cheese Doritos dipped in cottage cheese.
6. My favortie restaurant in the world is The Old Spaghetti Factory.
7. I have watched Tiger Woods play golf in Maui.
8. I love anything Disney!! I think I am more excited for our upcoming Disney World trip than Niah is!
9. I think I am, sometimes, unfairly labeled as a snob or rude because I am quiet and a little shy. I think this was very true in high school.
10. If I could hang out in sweats and a t-shirt every day I probably would.
11. My favorite book is Follow the River by James Alexander Thom.
12. I love, love, love being pregnant.
13. I have a brown belt in karate.
14. I wish I would have stuck with karate and gotten my black belt.
15. I really want to go skydiving one day but I would have to keep it a secret from my husband and dad! They would never let me do it!
16. Bryan already knows this- I hate it when he doesn't rinse his cereal bowl. By the time I get to washing it, the last little pieces are crusted onto the side of the bowl and it's a pain to scrub off!
17. The white spot on my tooth is from when I got really sick as a baby. Somehow, whatever I got sick with, left spots on my teeth.
18. If I could get rid of that darn white spot I would. Little kids always tell me I have something on my tooth!
19. I love to travel. I am always thinking of trips I want to take- now or in the future when we actually have money.
20. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with all that I want to do in life. There is just not enough time.
21. I love to sew quilts.
22. My Grandpa Doug was an official in the NFL so I got to go see him officiate at Superbowl 35.
23. I hated high school. I think I have blocked it from my memory-seriously. I can't remember much about it other than the fact that I hated it.
24. There is nothing better than hearing Niah tell me she loves me or that I look cute today. She is so sweet.
25. I love Chloe's smile. It is contagious.
26. I have a bad habit of picking at things- nails, zits, dead skin, etc. Gross, I know!
27. I think Bryan looks really handsome in his white coat. There's something about a man in uniform!
28. My least favorite chores to do in our house are dishes and cleaning out the fridge.
29. I love Doris Day and anything old fashioned.
30. I can remember birthdays and phone numbers really well.
31. I love rainy days in the summer.
32. I really want to live in Nashville. I'm trying to talk Bryan into applying for a residency there.
33. Reading is one of my favorite past times.
34. I have seen Reba McEntire in concert more that six times. I love her!!
35. I haven't been for a while, but I love to golf.
36. I had to write a letter of apology to my mom and dad in 5th grade for shooting spit wads in class.
37. I am not very good at keeping a journal. I wish I was better.
38. Two of my roommates in college had crushes on Bryan- I guess I was the lucky one!!
39. When I was in high school, I went with some of my friends to power box the vice president of our high school. I stayed in the car the whole time but I remember feeling really nervous that we would get caught.
40. I love to cook.
41. I have a really bad habit of not keeping the check book balanced. I just check our account online about once a week.
42. I have never broken a bone but have had stitches twice.
43. I saw the movie Titanic in the theater 8 times. I was obsessed with that movie. I listened to the soundtrack at night while I was falling asleep- sometimes I would lay there crying thinking about the movie. To this day, the only song I still have memorized on the piano is "My Heart Will Go On".
44. Since we have moved to Vermont, I have had two or three dreams that my Grandma Saundra died. Maybe that was Heavenly Father's way of preparing me for her death. She was the person I missed the most since moving here.
45. I have seen the broadway play Les Miserables four times, maybe five, I can't remember. I love that play.
46. I think anyone who wants to run a marathon is crazy!! That doesn't even sound fun to me. (No offense to those who have ran one or who are training for one!)
47. If I could change our wedding anniversary I would. December 27th is too close to Christmas.
48. I really love the TV show John and Kate Plus 8. It makes me appreciate my two girls!
49. I am so glad that I have the gospel in my life. Where would I be without it?!
50. For the most part, I am a happy, go-with-the-flow person!
I did it. It only took me an hour! Everyone who is reading this should take the challenge of coming up with this much- it's harder than it seems.
