We took a trip out to my Grandpa Doug's house to visit. We have not been out there since he finished building it. He made us a yummy lasagna dinner and was a great host! Bennett enjoyed relaxing on the couch.
The girls rode Scotty the Llama. What a beautiful house! I love how it lights up at night.
Melvin the Turkey was waiting to greet us when we got there. The girls thought he was pretty cool.
Here's the kids with their great- grandpa.
Grandpa has a player piano and Chloe and Niah were fascinated by it. They couldn't figure out how it could play all by itself!
I think the highlight for the girls was riding up and down on the elevator in the house and taking a bath in the huge soaker tub. (That's what Niah called it!) Even though my grandma was not there in person, I believe she was there in spirit. There are little things in the house that have my grandma's touch and style, and it felt like she was there with us.
Thanks Grandpa for letting us come see you. We had a great time and the girls can't wait to come back and ride the elevator!

oh how fun nat!!! i bet grandpa was sooo happy to have you guys stay there. that house is amazing. love ya!
The house is absolutely beautiful and mom is all around. It is so peaceful there, but it is a big place for Grandpa to be alone. When I stayed there this past summer, the hardest thing I had to deal with was that Grandma did not get to see it finished. I know Grandpa loved having you come and visit - he gets lonely even though he doesn't say it much.
Chloe is adorable in the picture next to Melvin. These are great photos for great memories. Where else can your kids pet a turkey, ride a llama and see a piano play all by itself. It is a heart pain to think grandma can't be here in person to enjoy all this.
