Halloween and Fall

Our Halloween was great! The kids had a blast trick-or-treating this year. Bennett finally caught on and understood what to do! Niah dressed up as Susan from Narnia. Grandma Shannon made her costume. It was perfect! Niah was so happy about it. Chloe dressed up as a fairy. She saw some purple fake eyelashes in a magazine and had to have them, so we planned her costume around those darn eyelashes! She looked so pretty. Bennett was an astronaut. We had a zipper malfunction so he looks a little 'GQish' with his zipper open.

And of course, don't forget Mabel. She wore Chloe's old Tinkerbell costume! It was only on long enough for me to snap a picture then she tried to eat the wings.
We carried on our annual tradition of soup and breadsticks. The kids were so excited to go trick-or-treating that they didn't really eat. They were full on candy anyway! (Notice Bennett's costume change. He went trick-or-treating as a fireman. He just couldn't make up his mind!)
Tuesday, Bryan had the day off so we spent the afternoon out in the yard raking leaves and enjoying the beautiful weather. I love days like that.

Chloe's enjoying a snack out in the sunshine!

I love this time of year. I don't want it to end. At least we haven't had any snow yet!

Annual Apple Picking

We made a trip to the apple orchard yesterday. It's our favorite thing to do in the fall. I miss Vermont so bad, so this orchard gave me my Vermont fix! We had a blast and it was a beautiful day.
Bennett loved to pick up the apples and put them in the bag. Towards the end he just liked to throw them.

The bag is so heavy...

Chloe took the bag away from me!

This picture is on here twice for some reason, but it's cute, I guess.

My darling kids. I love them.

The weather was so nice. We just hung out and played after we had filled our bag. The kids let me take pictures and they ran around being silly. It was a great time. I want to go again!

Harvest Festival

Saturday was the annual Shelburne Farms Harvest Festival. We had a great time! The weather was beautiful. It was a perfect day to enjoy our last Fall here in Vermont. Chloe wanted her face painted but was a little nervous. She didn't move the whole time and had such a serious expression on her face. She told the girl she wanted a 'pupple butterfly'!
I think the girls would have played on the tractors the entire day. They had fun pretending to drive on the farm.

Bryan and the girls went on a hay ride. It was a wagon pulled by horses but there was no hay! I'm not sure why they call it a hay ride. Chloe calls horses 'yeehaws'. They are both into horses right now so they were in heaven.

I am feeling a little sad that this is our last fall in Vermont. It is so pretty here this time of year. I love the cool, crisp morning air when the kids and I go walking in the mornings. It's so refreshing and a great way to start our days. I will definitely miss the New England Fall season when we move in the Spring. There's nothing quite like it anywhere else.

Flag Football

It's flag football season again. I can't believe it's here already, where did that year go?! Bryan's team has been the Champions for two years running. Maybe they will continue their winning streak this year. We have fun going to watch. The girls love playing with their friends too. This is Chloe's new friend Ethan. They look so much alike, they could be twins!

Niah and her friend Gracie.

I love that the guys get so into their games. Their competitive sides emerge! You can see them focused in on the play that Ben is drawing on his hand.

Good luck to team 'Youth in Asia' !

Here we are at the top of Niah's castle!
